On its Facebook page, GB Railfreight confirmed that it has ordered five additional Class 66 locomotives. The company already purchased five Stage IIIa compliant EMD 710 series engines and registered them in the UK before the introduction of Stage IIIb emission legislation on January 1 2015. This way the acquisition of more expensive Stage IIIb compliant locomotives was avoided. Delivery of 66773-66777 is foreseen for late 2015.
