On 18.01.2014, the first Marathon test train ran from Sibelin shunt yard to Nimes [FR]. It had a length of 1476 m and a hauled weight of 3309 t. Prima electric 37042 was at the head and the 37002 in the middle of the train.

The tests with the electric locomotives are now completed. Later this year, similar test runs will be held using Vossloh Euro4000 diesel electric locomotives late February / early March.

Remarkable is the fact that the wagons of the 1500 meter train came from three different Kombiverkehr trains, which were remarshalled in Sibelin.
