In 2010, CZ LOKO outshopped a first Class 742.7 locomotive in the form of 742 701-6, which was subsequently delivered to ČD Cargo. A further four locos (742 702-705) were built until 2012 and became part of CZ LOKO's hire pool.
The 742.7 is actually not that different from the 741.7. The main difference is the weight of the two types. A 742.7 has a mass of 64 tonnes, while a 741.7 weighs 72 tonnes.
