The TEM LTH is a joint project between CZ LOKO and Russia's Transmashholding. It is designed as a multi-purpose locomotive (i.e. shunting and main line operations) for the 1520 mm market. In 2012, the two companies started with the construction of prototype and demonstrator locomotive TEM LTH 001. Assembly of the locomotive took place in Lithuania at the Vilnius Locomotive Repair Depot. After a period of testing, following the loco's completion in 2013, the locomotive entered service for the Lithuanian Railways.
