The 19 Class 70/0 locomotives currently in service for Freightliner will be subject to various technical modifications. The goal is to update them with the modifications that were already included in the design of the Colas Rail Class 70/8 units.

The adjustments, such as a new cooling arrangement, should take away the majority of the teething problems experienced with the original PowerHaul PH37ACmi design. Freightliner 70010 is the first machine to undergo the adjustments by Brush Traction in Loughborough.
