The first Pesa Gama diesel locomotive is currently in Krakow. PKP IC, that received the locomotive from pesa some days ago is preparing it for regular services in its work shops. This includes renumbering, twice. The machine has lost its Pesa designation 111Db-002, being replaced by SU140-02. S stands for Spalinowa, which means diesel, the U stands for uniwersalna, because it is a universal operable locomotives, both for freight and passengers. PKP IC is going to use it for passenger services.
Today we got the information that SU140-02 has been changed again, now the machine is the SU160-02. PKP IC ordered these locomotives with a top speed of 140 kph, but Pesa has built it for 160 kph, hence the change.
