In the Autumn of 2013, German freight operator Rheincargo (DE) took on the delivery of five new Traxx F140 DE locomotives. These five locomotives where taken from stock by Bombardier. The new DE 801-DE 805 where outshopped earlier that year as 76 103-107, sporting a plain silver livery with white nose sections.

76 103, 104 and 105 where transported to the HGK workshops in Brühl-Vochem on 01 October 2013. After being tested in revenue service and applying new Rheincargo logos, the three machines were officially presented on 21 November 2013.
